HACIENDA HELPING HANDS URGES SUPPORT OF TWO KEY PHILANTHROPIC ORGANIZATIONS

Hacienda Helping Hands, Hacienda's community initiative, invites you to participate in our annual community support campaign with your fellow Hacienda owners, investors, businesses and other affiliates in our efforts to address critical needs in the Tri-Valley. This year, we are again issuing a special challenge to you to support two important community organizations: the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance and the Three Valleys Community Foundation. While the Tri-Valley enjoys a tremendous level of prosperity, the region has witnessed an unprecedented demand on local organizations that perform invaluable services for those in need. Our Hacienda Helping Hands campaign is asking you to offer a "hand" in support of both of these efforts that are central to the fabric of the community.

Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance

The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance's (TVNPA) Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund began as a campaign to support six safety net service providers scaling to meet increasing needs during and following Covid 19-related lockdown in 2020 and 2021. Hacienda Helping Hands was a matching partner for that campaign, which raised $183,000 that directly benefited those six beneficiaries. In 2022, TVNPA expanded the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund by creating an annual grant program, open to all 501(c)3 nonprofits serving the Tri-Valley. The grant program also involves a matching funds component and supports emerging and established nonprofits with unrestricted grant awards made quarterly. Since its inception, the fund has distributed over $300,000 in grants to organizations serving the Tri-Valley community. Their tag line says it all: "Immediate Impact - Measurable Results." This year, we ask you to contribute to the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund in whatever way is possible: as an individual donor, corporate donor, or by becoming a matching funds partner. Donations are tax deductible. To learn more and donate, go directly to: www.tvnpa.org/tvnf.

Three Valleys Community Foundation

Three Valleys Community Foundation (3VCF), the region’s new community foundation, will be encouraging local giving in 2024 via their new ‘Give Where You Live’ campaign. At their 2023 State of Giving event, the organization shared statistics on the number of local grantmakers in the region – and the real opportunities for these grantmakers to increase their local philanthropic focus. 3VCF offers the ability for both corporations and individuals to create Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) for personal and targeted charitable giving. DAFs allow for immediate tax deductions - with the ability to then re-designate the funds to specific nonprofit organizations and causes they care about. 3VCF will also continue their grantmaking focus on mental health in 2024. John Muir Health announced a $30K commitment to the new fund, offering a challenge to local corporations to once again join the cause. In November 2023, more than $144,000 was awarded to 13 local organizations on the front line of mental health programs for the community. 3VCF’s new Give, Grant and Grow Green fund work will be a primary focus in 2024 as well. The new fund focuses on nonprofits working at the intersection of environmental programs and sustainability. To learn more, visit: 3vcf.org.

Amplify Local Philanthropic Work

The work of the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance and Three Valleys Community Foundation aligns well with the mission of Hacienda Helping Hands to support six key philanthropic areas: youth development and education, family strengthening, senior assistance, access to healthcare and healthy living, affordable housing and solutions to homelessness, and arts and culture. Contributing to these organizations covers all of these philanthropic areas and more. You can also provide important support by following the work of these organizations and letting others in your networks know about their initiatives and accomplishments.
